3. Technical Cooperation in Nuclear Power Safety
Based on the understanding that securing nuclear safety is a global task, Japanese Government carries out activities to secure and improve nuclear safety world wide through international organizations, bilateral agreements, etc.
In line with such policy, we initiated the cooperation programs on nuclear power generation in fiscal 1985.
We conducted the following activities;
- - Technical Cooperation on Safety (with subsidy from Japan Keirin Association) <from fiscal 1985 to fiscal 2001>
- - JICA's Group Training Course "Nuclear Power Generation (Basic, Infrastructure)"
(under contract with JICA) <since fiscal 1985>

- - International Cooperation Program for Safety Management at NPP's (under contract with METI) <from fiscal 2002 to fiscal 2006>
- - International Training Program for Safety Management at NPP's (under contract with METI) <from fiscal 2006 to date>
- - Acceptance of delegations from foreign counterparts <since fiscal 1985>
"International Training Program for Safety Management at NPPs" provides training courses in Japan and seminars in recipient countries.
For fiscal 2008, training courses in Japan are categorized as follow;

| ii) | Primary Training Course for Vietnam (2 courses) |
| iii) | Instructors Training Courses (2 courses) |

In addition, We have dispatched total 247 people to 16 countries for coordination meeting and project assessment from fiscal 1985 to fiscal 2008.
