Exchange and Cooperative Activities
1. Exchanges with Related Organizations in Europe and the United States
We are promoting information and face to face exchanges with main organizations in the electric utility industries in Europe and the United States by holding regular meetings, and taking part in international conferences and symposiums. Focus in this activity is on the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) of the United States, EURELECTRIC, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) of the United States, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of the United States, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) of the United States, the International Energy Agency (IEA), Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft (BDEW) of Germany, and Electricite de France (EDF).
We are promoting face to face exchanges with these organizations by taking opportunities of visiting them, thereby smoothing the way for our survey, research and training activities. We are also pushing ahead with exchanges with Japan-based electric utility industry-related organizations such as EDF's representative office, the French Embassy and the Russian Embassy in Japan.
We initiated technical exchanges with Energoatom of Ukraine in fiscal 2007 and with Rosenergoatom Concern of Russia in fiscal 2008.
2. Information Exchanges with Related Organizations in Asia
We have been conducting the periodical meetings for information exchange with several organizations in the electric utility in Asia.
We have held 26 meetings annually with State Grid Information & Tele-communication Co., Ltd. of China from fiscal 1984 to 2009.
In fiscal 2008, We launched periodical meeting with Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
In addition, We have held a symposium with HAPUA (The Heads of ASEAN Power Utilities and Authorities) from fiscal 2007.
